FIRST STEP TOWARDS INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIAD IN INFORMATICS (IOI)
ZIO-2011 is the first round towards qualifying for the team to represent India at the International Olympiad in Informatics, 2011 (IOI-2011), to be held in Thailand in July 2011.
It will be conducted by CBSE at around 40 centres across the country and abroad. The list of centres is put up on the CBSE Website: www.cbse.nic.in as well as on the Olympiad website: www.iarcs.org.in.
It will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, 20 November, 2010.
Previous question papers and solutions are available online: ZIO-2003, ZIO-2004, ZIO-2005, ZIO-2006, ZIO-2007, ZIO-2008, ZIO-2009, ZIO-2010.
About 200-250 students will qualify from ZIO-2011 to participate in the Indian National Olympiad in Informatics 2011 (INOI-2011), scheduled to be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011.
Registration procedure for ZIO-2011
Participation in ZIO-2011 is open to all students who are in 8th-12th standard during the academic year 2010-2011. Registration is open till Friday , October 15, 2010 and is being coordinated by CBSE. Students should forward their registration via their school principals. Note: Registration is open to students from all school boards, not just students studying in CBSE schools.
The examinations will be conducted in about 35 cities across the country and West Asia. Each of these cities will have one or more nodal centres which will be responsible for the conduct of the examinations.
Applications for participating in ZIO-2011 should be sent through the school principal. Each school principal is requested to forward the list of candidates participating in ZIO-2011 to the nodal centre along with the examination fee on or before October 15, 2010.
The fee for each participant will be Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred only). A consolidated demand draft for all the participants of your school may be drawn in favour of Secretary, CBSE, Delhi.
No admit card or roll number will be issued. Instead, when candidates go to write the examination, they should carry with them a bonafide certificate with their photograph attested by the principal of their school.
